There are different types of smart plugs on the market. Some of these come with remote control. This makes them easier to use and more convenient for the user.

With Smart Life, you can build several complicated and useful automation tasks through IFTTT. From the list of devices and apps, select Smart Life. Confirm your home network and tap ‘Connect Now’. Choose the Smart Life app network in your phone settings — labeled ‘SmartLife-XXXX’ — and go back to the Smart Life app.

Wait a couple of minutes for it to finish. Now you should be greeted with a screen saying, “Welcome home”. This is the screen which lets you control and customize all your devices. To add a new device, tap the plus icon in the top-right corner. Now find the option Electrical Outlet and tap on it. This will adds extra peace of mind to the process of managing your smart home devices.

Open the Google Home app touch and hold the light you want. You'll find controls for brightness. If your bulb has color options, you'll also find color controls. You can now control your lights with your speaker or display. Select the light bulb you’d like to set up.

Tap Settings Remove device Remove. (This will remove all your GE bulbs. This currently doesn't support the removal of individual C by GE light bulbs). To create any Routine, enter the voice command you'll use to tell the Google Assistant to start the Routine. You must always enter a voice command in the app, but if you schedule your Routine, it will start at the set day and time without the voice command. Switch it on, and the bulb is going to blink thrice. You’re just getting started, you know.

Connect smart home devices in the Google Home app

Of course, you would already have your light bulbs set up for this. By opening Google home on your mobile or tablet then click add, select home, and then set up the device. Select the first one and then your address. Click on “Next” and select the desired configuration. It can be the coffee maker, camera, light bulb, among others.
